Interested in joining RMTC?
Whether you love being in the spotlight, prefer working behind the scenes or simply want to be part of a creative community, we'd love to welcome you to Retford Musical Theatre Company.
We're a friendly, enthusiastic theatre company with a passion for producing high-quality musical theatre and pantomime. Bringing together people from Retford and the surrounding areas, we pride ourselves on creating ambitious productions, showcasing local talent and, most importantly, enjoying what we do.
You don't need years of experience to get involved. Just enthusiasm, commitment and a love of theatre.
There's much more to putting on a show than what happens on stage, and every production relies on a brilliant team of people working together.
More than just performing
On stage
Our productions offer a wide range of opportunities for performers of all experience levels, with exciting roles involving acting, singing and dancing, as well as the chance to be part of a talented ensemble.
Whether you've performed in countless shows or are considering auditioning for the first time, we'd love to hear from you.
Behind the scenes
Not everyone wants to be centre stage, and that's absolutely fine!
From costumes, props and set building to backstage support, technical roles and front-of-house activities, there are plenty of ways to put your skills to good use, learn something new and become part of the company.
Community
Joining RMTC isn't just about taking part in productions. It's about meeting new people, building confidence, developing skills and making lasting friendships.
We work hard, support one another and share the excitement of bringing a production together - from the first rehearsal to the final curtain call.
Did you know a large musical production can cost around £24,000 to produce?
We are a non-profit making organisation. All of our member fees go towards the costs of our productions and the running of our rehearsal hall.
We welcome new members aged 18 and over, from Retford and the surrounding communities.
You don't need to have performed before, and you don't have to audition simply to become a member. You might be an experienced performer, returning to theatre after a break, or completely new to it all - either way, there's an opportunity to get involved.
